Poetry
SPRING 2021
Lilac Bush
by JENNY WONG
When sunlight hits
the matte-glossy green
leaves with V-mapped
veins that drink in
the exhaustions
of vehicular passings,
does anyone consider the happenings
beneath
the undersides—
a budding collective
waiting to decide
if now is the time to become
purple
again.
